That's never going to happen. I switched to the in-kernel modules a
very long time ago as by then the lirc modules had long since become
impossible to shoe-horn into the kernel. Actually the lirc_serial has
was flawless for me for ever since, until this recent restructure.
If I can't get the serial_ir to work in the current kernel I'll look
into other options.
