I didn't think I'd hit this one, since I saw no apparent misbehaviour,
but checking my logs I have indeed seen this.

I'm getting this sometimes, but I've not discerned a pattern yet.
When it hangs there are some log messages about VDPAU as the last
things in mythfrontend log. Which is odd because I'm using VAAPI with
i965 GFX. After restarting mythfrontend a few times it has started
working again. So far I've only seen this with DVB-T2 HD recordings,
not with any SD recordings.
I think what might be happening is that sometimes VAAPI is failing to
initialise and it is falling through to VDPAU which isn't expected to
work. When it fails I see:

I picked up some xorg and driver updates in the same "apt upgrade" run,
but it was just a packaging revision bump and I've tried downgrading
all the relevant looking packages to what they were before and the
problem persisted.

I don't have IPv6, so _if_ we are seeing the same problems it seems
unlikely the IPv6 isn't involved.
