This is a known issue. See https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12907 .
It's the main reason I stopped using an RPi for a frontend, opting
instead for a used Zotac ZBox from ebay (with an NVIDIA video
chipset). Perhaps this will be solved by the RPi 4.
