I will concede that it can be hard to find devices in there given specific requirements (such as having analogue capture) since the card may be listed under one category but have other features. For example, I have a couple of (IIRC) HVR1350 cards which are primarily DVB tuners - but they also have FM and analogue video in (which I don't personally use).
But in general, the information in the wiki should be a good guide to what the pre-requisites are, eg newer cards often have a requirement for a newish kernel for driver support.

Basically, if it's supported by the V4L (Video for Linux) framework then it should work in Myth. Myth generally doesn't really deal with hardware, it deals with an API which abstracts the hardware (eg into /dev/dvb* devices for DVB tuners).
