I think Qt requests the fonts from OS X.  If you drag and drop those fonts into Apple’s Font Book application,  Font Book will validate the file and offer to add it.  I believe Myth will then be able to access it but you might have to log out and back in.

Or not.  It has always been very murky how fonts work with Qt on OS X.
