[mythtv-users] using a mythtv version that is fixed???

So I see that ticket 12845 is fixed and now mythtranscode will not 
delete the original recording unless specifically requested. So that 
brings me to 2 questions:

1. when will that "committed" patch be in the version of mythtv that I 
get with sudo apt-get update/upgrade???

2. how would I use that patch if I wanted to test it now???
