That's too bad but understandable.

I started with Mythbuntu 8.04 in August 2008 and it was a snap to get up
and going.  I've stayed with it all of these years as it has been
reasonably stable, though updating to 16.04 still seems fraught with
problems, so I am staying at 14.04 for a while.

Another aspect is that MythTV itself has gotten quite more polished over
the years.

Kudos to both teams who have provided the fruits of their labors to the
rest of us to enjoy.
