At the top of the hour, Mythtv was scheduled to start recording on the same channel I was watching. The Mac was using the 1st tuner of the HDHomeRun at the time, via mythtv. Since there was no other recording scheduled at that same time, Mythtv would normally use HDHomeRun tuner 1 for the recording, but since the Live TV was using HDHR tuner 1, I’m not sure what was going on at the backend.

No clue about Kodi stuff, but if you want to minimize Live TV/recording
conflicts, you'll need to set up your Live TV and Schedule Orders (in
mythtv-setup) such that they are generally opposite--so that a given
tuner that's chosen first for Live TV will be chosen later (or last) for
recordings and vice versa.

Note that you can't do this with Priorities. You must use Orders. Note,
also, the difference between priority (low = not important/last) and
order (low = first/most-preferred).
