Hi Rob,

Hope you have a good new year too. My head is just beginning to recover
now!

The first clip (1007_20151231093000.mpg) appears to have no problems
recorded in the log with OpenMAX hdmi audio. So I'm a bit baffled. Do
you have to configure the receiver to work in basic PCM mode? Maybe it
expects pass through data by default.

I note that the OpenMAX video decoder is not being used - it looks like
there is a problem with your video playback profile. I would suggest
that you check the decoder setting in your OpenMAX profile. Or maybe
delete and re-create the profile.

In the 2nd clip (1090_20140202205000.mpg) the audio is AC3, 32-bit
floating point. Querying the OpenMAX audio component for supported
formats it reports that is supports 32-bit PCM samples. As such the
audio player passes the 32-bit data straight to the OpenMAX driver. But
it appears that OpenMAX can't play these samples. This is clearly the
OpenMAX component overstating its capabilities. Maybe the solution is
to only report support for 16-bit PCM.

It would be very helpful if you could upload a small 30 second sample of
the 2 recordings so I can examine them in more detail?

Similar to above. The OpenMAX component is being configured with 6
channels OK but apparently doesn't play back.

Again the 1st clip has no reported problems in the log.

The 2nd clip appears to be configured for passthrough OK, confirmed by
your listening test.

I suspect that if you fix the problem with playback profile then the h/w
OpenMAX decoder will provide watchable content. The audio has similar
problems to case 1,2 and 3.

Many thanks for your report. It would be really useful if you could
upload the 2 short clips. I'm sure that we can work around these
niggles and get OpenMAX audio working well across a range of material
and kit.
