In the UK we was forced to switch to SD  so we know a bit about it :)

I would recommend the tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite grabber, it's quicker, 
more efficient, supports more of the XMLTV API and is still being 
actively developed, but it's not in the official release yet only the 
nightly builds.

There's been a few threads on the user list about the change to SD for 
UK users which will mostly apply to NZ as well like these :-
