[mythtv-users] Machine hung -- lists of recorded programs and upcoming recordings empty.

Use smartctl to check the disk health. Your fan staying on high may suggest
the CPU thermal compound needs refreshing, or there is some other
intermittent problem with system heat. The M58p was produced in 2008, at
the end of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague, so the
motherboard could be dying.
