Your assumption is correct!
That's what has me confused, I have ( well ) over twenty channels with

HDHR config/VLC on Linux, seems at least equal to HDHR config/VLC on W7 or WMC on W7.
and even more important this includes all the channels that I care about.

I just did a channel scan and it added a total of eight very strange new channels.
