Hi,

Yes, Optical Drive is spinning up. Sometimes it plays as DVD without any
problems, but sometimes it does not play, only spin up and then turns
back to menu. It does not depend on protection issues. Actually, I have
a DVD without any protection that is possible to play with VLC, but not
with MythTV.

MythTV could be self contained or using system libraries depending on
the source. That might explain the different behaviour.

System is a Linux Mint (a Ubuntu Version) and I've installed VLC and
MythTV from Software-Center.
