TBS 6982 & 6280 stoking cards, work without issues. However it is true
that you have to recompile the drivers often, but have never lost a
recording since I swapped from Hauppauge DVB-T & DVB-S.
I use Mythbuntu.

Paul.

I've had one USB stick die in over 8 years, and all I had to do was disable it in MythTV. That aside, it sound like the TBS 4 channel card is my best option from a price perspective also, I'll just keep the DVB-T tuners as a backup.

That has a quad LNB on it, with tails into the loft which then uses an female/female adaptor to join the two ends of the cable together. no more faffing about directly on the dish side. the other 2 tails from the LNB are currently un-used in in the loft for future use.
