Yes, indeed, it was multirec. While adding tuner:

Recording Options | Maximum Records

Defaults to 2. Set to 1.

Now my six tuners end up being numbered 1, 3, 5, etc. I had previously 
manipulated them to be a nice clean 1 through 6. Meh, small thing.
