I just had a frontend die and am needing to configure a new one. I need 
do this as well. How did you capture your EDID? It's been a long time 
since I captured mine. I recall running X in verbose mode (-v or -vv) 
and extracting the EDID from the log. I think someone here described 
using Xrandr to extract it.
