Well, no. All advertising dollars are based on the number of viewers. So 
when a content provider *and* a network provider lose viewers in a very 
real sense they lose dollars. It's not an empty threat.

A network or a show that has 100,000 viewers commands much lower 
advertising revenue than one that has 500,000 viewers.

And, yes, I do want to threaten directly.
