When asking for "gotchas" regarding upgrading to CentOS 7, systemd is
anything but off topic.

I'm still on CentOS 6 at work as we haven't got our custom software
working correctly with systemd yet. At home, on my Debian boxes, the
upgrades I did that brought in systemd did not always go smoothly. My
myth backend upgrade was pretty painless, but one of my frontend
systems got so messed up it wouldn't boot without manual intervention
for months (I had to use the emergency target, configure the network
manually, then continue the boot using the default target).
Eventually some upgrade fixed the problem, but I was never able to
track it down.

This is definitely one of those upgrades where having a full system
backup is a good idea, just in case.

Eric
