[mythtv-users] sluggish frontend

Over the holiday i converted my backend machine from mythbuntu to arch
linux, mainly because i use the machine for other things and want a
rolling distro. i used the package in the arch repositories.
i got everything on myth working after a few headaches with mythweb,
but the frontend on the server machine is very slow to scroll through
recordings. i have ruled out the database because on a dedicated front
end on a much weaker processor it actualy scrolls faster and smoother
than before. so i think it has something to do with my user on the
server. i have looked over the tips i could find googling this issue
and nothing i have changed helps. the only thing i could get from the
logs was that the frontend wanted udisks and arch uses udisks2. i
installed that and the frontend loaded much quicker but same issue
scrolling. i did not have issue on mythbuntu. other than that
everything else is much faster on same machine.
the only screwup i know of is that the first time i configured the
backend, i did it as root, which caused problems getting icons to the
guide, but beyond that everything is ok. log shows it is getting the
config from username, not mythtv user which is what i want.
thanks for any pointers/leads.
