I don't know that specific tuner.

This reminds me of an old problem I used to have with DVB usb tuners. 
Tuning failures after a long period, could be minutes, hours or days.

The output of the dmesg command from a terminal would be useful after a 
normal restart.

Have you tried a cold restart of the PC i.e. total power off (shutdown 
and remove the power cord  for say 5 minutes and then put the power cord 
back in and restart) ?  This is not a fix but would ensure a complete 
reboot and reload of any firmware in the DVB stick . Again output from 
the dmesg command once the PC has restarted.
