[mythtv-users] I have a ceton of a headache!

Hello all,

I have used mythtv for many years and just the last few years I have
been using the ceton cards. I really like them but now I have a major
issue that I have never seen before. I really need some help.

This started a few weeks ago with my ceton 4 tuner pcie card. I would
see the following errors in the 'information center' :

Tuner 1 has an error
Tuner 2 has an error
Tuner 3 has an error
Tuner 4 has an error

In the log for mythbackend I noticed it could not initialize the card.
So, Im thinking I accidently killed the card somehow. I fired up a local
browser and went over to 192.168.200.1 but got no response from the
card. I downloaded the python reset script and ran it and it failed to
reset the card. After a bit more sole-searching I chalked it up to a
failed card? So, I ordered in the newer 6 tuner pcie card and had that
paired up by comcast.

I am able to access the card via a browser no problem now. However,
Backend does not communicate with tuners.

Here is what I see relevent in my mythbackend.log:

Apr 11 16:32:55 mythtv mythbackend: mythbackend[2702]: N CoreContext
main_helpers.cpp:582 (run_backend) MythBackend: Starting up as the
master server.

Apr 11 17:15:36 mythtv mythbackend: mythbackend[1730]: E CoreContext
main_helpers.cpp:199 (setupTVs) Problem with capture cardsCard 5failed init

I have heard that sometimes the networking for the card is delayed and
the card driver tries to initialize before the network part is
ready.Something like that.

Help. I have the biggest ceton headache now. Any ideas ??

I will now take a break from all this for a short bit.

Thank you in advance,

coffee
