[mythtv-users] Cannot Connect To Backend

I was trying to setup a new FE. It is stuck in the setup where it shows
the language/country selections then complains it cannot connect to the
BE. I put in the correct IP address, username, and password and it
keeps failing.

I then went to my BE and checked. It is only listening on port 3306 on
the loopback interface. It is listening on port 6543 on both the
loopback and the 192.168.x.x addresses.

I then edited the /etc/mythtv/config.xml file and change the <Host>
field from localhost to 192.168.x.x. Now when I tried to restart the
BE, it too gets stuck in the language/country selections then complains
it cannot connect to the BE. I changed the config.xml file back to
localhost, but the BE remains stuck in the cannot connect to the
backend. My mythtv system is now completely broken.

How do I fix this? What is the difference between ports 3306 and 6543?

This is a mythbuntu 14.04.1 system.

	/home/mythtv/.mythtv/config.xml -> /etc/mythtv/config.xml
	/etc/mythtv/config.xml
	/usr/share/mythtv/config.xml (unused?)
