Have you actually reviewed the PCI audit requirements?
It is not what one (usually) thinks it is (and certainly not
what most think it should be).

And, there is no such thing as being able to eliminate
all risk in (real) life.  One just tries to understand them,
and mitigate the resulting impacts, at an acceptable
cost.
