"Transcoding gets turned on at the time when the channel is tuned. For
programs using the BDA drivers in WIndows, the transcode level will be set
in HDHomeRun Setup and activated when the application sets the PID or
program filter.
For programs using libhdhomerun, it will require updates to the program to
enable this. We have been in contact with the developers of HomeRunTV and
InstaTV so they can make the necessary changes to their apps. MythTV will
require a patch and that is on our todo list."
