Thanks David. Following your advice I've been keeping an eye on 
versions/updates over the last couple of weeks. Here are the results of

I still get the same strange behaviour that I originally reported, and I 
can only guess that maybe something went wrong with the update of the 
database contents from 0.25 to 0.27. Since I can't figure out what's 
going on, I may end up having to do a fresh install ation of 0.27 so 
long as I can find some way of restoring all the details of my 
recordings (I hope that's as straightforward as restoring the "recorded" table with updated channel id's).
