Very unlikely to happen. The reason being that almost /all/ mythtv builders do 
it the way the instructions tell you to: put your OS and your database on one 
drive and your recordings on one or more other drives.

Yes, occasionally we build all-in-one systems which have everything on root. For 
test purposes, when we know the system isn't going to become overloaded. When we 
know the system is going to be discarded afterwards.

Yes, occasionally we screw up and accidentally assign storage to the root 
volume, or a drive fails to mount and stuff gets written to the wrong place. 
There are well-known rules in place to avoid these scenarios.

You've fallen down a hole of your own making, and the simplest way around it 
would have been to divide your SSD into two partitions: OS+database and 
recordings. The OS partition need only be about 10Gb-12Gb.
