[mythtv-users] Mythbuntu & Myth from Ubuntu repositories

So I got my backend up and running by installing Mythbuntu, everything
appears to be working fine.

On my main personal PC, I then install mythfrontend by typing into a
terminal window

"sudo apt-get install mythtv-frontend"

after running

"mythfrontend" and configuring the client to talk to backend, the client
tells me

"This version of MythTV requires an updated database.
(schema is 18 versions behind)

Please run mythtv-setup or mythbackend to update your database.

Database Host: mythcontroller.home.com
Database Name: mythconverg"

The message seems wrong to me, I've already run both mythtv-setup or
mythbackend on the backend and running them on the frontend seems both
strange and somewhat impossible as the backend isn't installed on the
frontend.

So what do I do?

Abandon Mythbuntu and install a backend from the repositories and hope
that works?
Obtain an old frontend that works with Mythbuntu? How would I do this?
Something else?
