Note that none of the MSOs are giving "free" adapters out of
the goodness of their heart (and I know you know that, but
wanted it in the archives).  The FCC rule requires them to
provide a "limited" number of free devices for a "limited" period
of time to those who might be impacted by the encryption of
basic (the numbers and period depend on the details of your
MSO and your specific situation).  Instead of a DTA you can
instead obtain a CableCARD.  What content is marked
copy-freely (i.e. usable with MythTV) also varies by MSO.
