If you have additional physical tuners, you can watch any channel 
available to those tuners.

Actually, it starts at the last successfully tuned channel for the 
selected input.

Show the program guide when starting Live TV
This starts the program guide immediately upon starting to watch Live TV.

in frontend settings under EPG Settings.  Though, to the best of my 
knowledge, it actually enters Live TV, tuning the 
last-successfully-tuned channel for the input, and displays the EPG on 
top of that.
