Major new releasev0.1.5 (Tue, 30 Oct 2012 13:34 EST):

GOING FORWARD: Assuming the v0.1.5 release has not mucked things up, the
alpha will last for 7 more days ending Tue, Nov 7th. After that the
release will be considered Beta. If there are no major issues the
project will move into maintenance mode in an additional two weeks Tue,
Nov 20th.

NOTE: A python bindings bug was introduced on Oct 23, 2012 and was
subsequently fixed on Oct 25, 2012 (MythTV v0.25 and higher). This bug
caused the Lossless Cut's MythExport (-e) option to abort. Please make
sure you update your MythTV install to at least Oct 25th.

NOTE: Scott Harris discovered a MythWeb related issue with Lossless Cut
mkv video files when using the "-r" replace option: "One thing I
discovered today is Lossless Cut breaks MythWeb's direct download links
and streaming ability. If you navigate to the recordings screen in
MythWeb and click on the direct download link for a recording that has
been "lossless cut" you'll get an error about an unknown file."<BR>
Patches have been provided to the MythWeb developer which fixes this
issue. See: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11180

NOTE: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty users, it appears that Launchpad will no longer
allow added debs for your installed Ubuntu version. This should not be a
problem as you can download any of the v0.1.5 debs and install it via
the command line. The package dependencies have not changed at all or is
there any 32bit or 64bit dependencies:
  sudo dpkg -i "/path to downloaded deb/losslesscut.deb"

Alpha v0.1.5 has been released to the PPA and source, with the following
changes:

Bug fixes:
 > For consistency added surrounding quotes to the first video path and
filename in a merge list. If users can ever add their own recorded
videos with proper seek table records this omission would have caused an
abort.

 > Fixed a bug where the lossless_cut.cfg setting "keep_log" was ignored

 > With a new release of CCExtractor the HDHomerun's teletext EIA format
subtitles are now extracted and converted to SRT format

 > Some users had issues where it looked like Lossless Cuts was
incorrectly setting the video frame rate in the final mkv file (reports
50fps should be 25fps/50fields-per-sec). This issue was a bug in
MediaInfo which has been corrected in v7.6, which is currently (Oct
22nd) only available as a source release but the PPA will likely be
updated shortly. This issue with MediaInfo never impacted Lossless Cut
so do not expect any changes with the new version.

New Features:
 > DVB Subtitle support has been added. See
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Lossless_Cut#DVB_Subtitles.
 > With the new support of DVB Subtitles, it would be appreciated if
previous Alpha testers re-test recordings that contain DVB Subtitles. If
your testing is successful please update your row entry in the
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Lossless_Cut#Supported_Recording_Devices table.

 > Added a "-X" option to force the use of mythccextractor as the
primary utility to extract and convert teletext subtitles tracks into
srt format. Even though there is an outstanding
http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11081 it may not effect all teletext
subtitle tracks. This change gives you the option to see if your
subtitles are impacted by this bug. There is no equivalent configuration
file variable so you must add the "-X" to the userjob command line. This
option will be removed when Ticket #11081 has been fixed and
mythccextractor will then be the primary teletext subtitle extractor for
all MythTV v0.25 and higher installs.

 > Added a "-D" delay option to change when the video track starts
playing by a positive or negative number of milliseconds. When your
recording already has audio and subtitle track(s) with a delay then the
delay you specify with the "-D" option does not replace the delay in
your recorded file. It is added to or subtracted from what is already
there. For example if your recording's audio track has a delay of 3ms
and you specify "-D -300" then that audio track will end up with a delay
of "-297ms" before it starts in the Lossless Cut mkv file. This is how
mkvmerge works. This option will not correct a Lossless Cut video that
exhibits audio drift overtime.

 > Added "-T" audio track selection used in conjunction with the"-S"
Strip option to specify which among multiple audio tracks to include in
the final lossless cut file

 > Added a "-C" Concert Cuts command line option which takes each cut
and creates individual video-audio-subtitle or audio only files. The
segment names are optionally specified in a "segment.cfg" file. See:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Lossless_Cut#Concert_Cuts
   > Added an "example_segment.cfg" to support for the Concert Cuts
segment naming and format string

 > Added the ability to selectively remove recordings after a successful
Lossless Cut export or move. See
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Lossless_Cut#Auto_Remove_Recording

Thanks

Doug
