Nice feature. I haven't used the --mpeg2 option for years, back when it
didn't handle cc. Perhaps --fifodir could be enhanced to put the cc
stream in a third pipe.

It expands them all, so they have to be recommpressed and remuxed.
That's why it's so slow, but then there is no choice but to do so
if you want to improve compression or change codecs.
