Greetings!

I have now been on .25 since I started using 12.04 Beta 2 1 week prior to its release. I had been using .24-fixes prior to that.

When I was using .24 with mythbuntu 10.04, my frontends were Mac minis running xbmc as the viewer. I tried using mythfrontend on the mac mini with not very good results. I was never ever able to get analog NTSC to work satisfactorily with this arrangement using HVR 950q tuners. ATSC / clear QAM worked fine. I am also using HDHR3 US tuner, and had no problems with it.

I set up a 'test' backend with .25 pre using the 950q tuners, and while the digital part of the tuner worked fine, analog went backwards, crashing the kernel.

I wound up giving up on the 950q, and got an hvr2250. The hvr 2250 is what moved me to upgrade to 12.04 for my main machine due to drivers for the 2250 being a pain in 10.04. The HDHR3US tuner continues to work fine.

I have now been using mythbuntu 12.04 and .25-fixes since April 18(it has been getting updates since then). In addition, I am now also running mythfrontend on the Mac minis with only one caveat related to the Mac version.

I have had no problems with movie playback up to and including 1080i using the 'Normal' configuration. I tried some of the other settings, and the results weren't as good so returned back to the Normal setup. This even applies to the 2006 Mac mini!

1. The Mac related problem is that when I start live tv, I want the tv guide to be displayed. However, the guide display is corrupted. If I turn off the tv guide, and then pull up the tv guide after live tv is launched, the guide displays fine.

2. Changing channel: when changing channel from the ATSC source to an analog source, there is an error message "video frame buffering failed too many times". Changing channel from analog to ATSC works fine. Also, changing channels within analog, or within ATSC works fine.

I will post an email for each of the issues mentioned so as to make it easier to respond to them individually.

Regards!
