[mythtv-users] limit channels on different tuners?

I am tuning the cable box and using the PVR devices to record.
Sorry for the confusion there. You're right I wouldn't think I would
have a problem since I tune the cable box and the PVR just accepts the
signal. The two PVR500's don't mind whatever channel I change it to.
However if I tune the cable box hooked into the PVR150 above channel 100
it drops me back to the main MythTV front end screen. I don't recall
seeing an error on the screen and looking in the messages log I didn't
see anything. I figured maybe someone else had seen this problem before.

I didn't think of this before but I'll try just doing a "cat
/dev/video0 > outfile.mpg" and change the channel above 100 and see what
happens.

Thanks for the reminder on the CableCard forgot about those
options. I'll have to check and see if my cable company supports
CableCards. I'm in the US using Cincinnati Bell FiOptics.

Thank you

Works like a champ and gives me three tuners. I know the PVR500 has 2
tuners each but with the conversion over to cable boxes I'm stuck with
just 1 usable tuner on each. In testing the tuners I found that the
PVR500's can handle going above channel 125 with no problems. When I try
the PVR150 it just drops me back to the main screen in MythTV. I would
think since the cable box is really doing the work it wouldn't care but
I guess not.

service, I'll move to that eventually. Sadly my cable box only supports
the component out or HDMI so I guess I'm stuck with the HD-PVR for that
right now. If there is another option I'd like to hear it - that HD-PVR
is a bit pricey...
