Thank you that worked.
I don't remember changing any playback profile, i always used Normal. And
i'm sure i didn't change anything when the OSD disappeared. Is it possible
that any updates in MythTv made the Normal profile behave different? I'm
running master. And checking that all default values was correct didn't
help either. But the computer is a pretty basic one with a Atom CPU and
integrated GPU.

Switched to Slim profile and the OSD is back.
