mythtv ships with its own version of ffmpeg.

You could try playing the file with mythffplay and see how you go.

The version in 0.25 is over one year old now ; having said that we use
our own mpeg-ts format decoder.

If you raise a ticket with a link to a sample we can have a closer look.
