If you are running 0.24, then for the Ceton to be an option you will
need to compile myth yourself and include my patches:
http://www.ronfrazier.net/mythtv/0.24/index.html#CetonSupport

If you don't want to compile myth, then the Prime is your only option.

If you are willing to upgrade to 0.25, then everything is included for
either device, so you just have choose your device on it's merits. I'm
partial to the Ceton, but I guess I'm not exactly unbiased :-) I agree
that most of the problems you are likely to encounter are due to the
cable company and will be identical with either card. If you run into
those problems, you'll probably curse and swear that you should have
bought the other device, but rest assured it would have made no
difference.

I personally find the extra tuner on the Ceton invaluable, but results
will depend on your usage patterns. I've never had any hardware
compatibility issues with the Ceton, but a few people here and there
have. I think most of them had issues with >4GB memory, which I
believe (but am not positive) was resolved in a driver update a few
months back.

If you like the Ceton and it fits your needs budget, but are concerned
about compatibility, Amazon often has the best price on this card, and
my experience with their return policy is really good. If it didn't
work for you, I'm almost positive amazon would pay for return shipping
and give you a full refund.
