I don't know if it applies to your case, but I used to have reboots (on opensuse 11.4) on Athlon II, x86_64 while I was using EIT on a DVB-S mantis card. I disabled it since I don't use it (I added a disecq switch and the card is not usable since) and I didn't have a single reboot since.
