If you havent already, installing the "Additional Drivers" as Richard 
noted is worth a try, alternativly you can install using apt-get command 
like; "sudo apt-get install linux-firmware linux-firmware-nonfree"

Looking at the log you posted earlier, it appears you (or myth has tried 
to) select the USB Capture device as a sound device.  The sound device 
you should be using is your motherboard sound device, something like 
"ALSA:iec958:CARD=Intel:DEV=0"..  Select this in Mythfrontend -> 
Settings -> General -> 4th Page, use the Scan for Audio Devices button, 
then select appropriate device.
