Yes you can. Try mythbox, an xbmc addon

It depends on OpenMax for hardware acceleration, for which there is no
support in myth. There is in XBMC AFAIK. Even then i THINK you only
get hardware support for h.264, not mpeg2. Depends where in the world
you are as to whether this is useful for TV.
