I am not confusing the OTA analog sunset with the companies' moving to
all-digital.

Comcast (easily the largest cable provider in the US) is phasing it out now.
Time Warner has announced they will begin phasing it out soon, with
all of it gone within 5 years
Charter has already started to phase out analog in some markets.

Cable companies can pack a whole lot more over the bandwidth the
analog requires, and have more control over the end-user as well.
