May have been broken by the changes that were supposed to fix it to only 
save the starting channel on successful tune or something.  You'd have 
to look through the history to find out why we seem to have 2 values 
that conflict/represent the same thing/... where the one we give the 
user an ability to modify doesn't do anything.

Well, even in that situation, we should be telling the user that the 
channel isn't available and letting them change the channel.

Again, the whole thing is broken if a user has to know any "This is what 
you do when it doesn't work" procedures...  It should just work--and if 
the channel is gone, let them go to a working channel (or even just have 
it automatically choose another channel to try or whatever you Live TV 
users think would be best).
