+1

Thanks to Thomas for taking on (even more) work to help make MythTV
great for a lot of users. (As one of the very active Mythbuntu
maintainers, he has a lot of other MythTV work on his plate.)

Oh, and as mentioned at http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Theme_Teams , if
anyone else out there who uses Mythbuntu theme (even if you're not using
the Mythbuntu distribution!) would like to help out with maintenance,
he's looking for others to help.

We currently have a large number of themes set up to allow anyone to
become involved and active in maintenance and enhancement--you could
even get commit privileges on the theme's repo (which may look good on
resumes or ...--and is much easier than submitting patches, etc.). My
plan is that eventually we'll have teams of users working on each theme,
so that no one person is on the hook for all the changes, so that those
team members who don't use some plugin don't have to theme it and other
team members who use the plugin can help with that part of it, and yet
the team can work together to ensure consistency of style and make the
theme better overall.

And, if done right, a team of 5-10 users working on a theme could mean
that each team member can put in minimal effort/time and help to create
a theme much better than any one person would have time to do.

Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten the "model" team in place--a first
team of people working on a single theme to show others how well it
works and to encourage others to get involved with their theme of choice.

So, if you'd like to give a little back and have some ideas for how to
improve your theme of choice, please get in touch with the theme point
of contact to see if you can help out.

Oh, and Thomas /just/ started with theming a couple of nights ago, so
it's not like you need years of experience to volunteer to help. And
you'll likely find that helping doesn't commit you to deadlines or
anything--that the main person who will be encouraging to finish the
things you plan to work on will be yourself...

Mike
