[mythtv-users] VMWare move. Firewire - ? Need input

I am moving from Hardware to Vmware ESX 5.
My only concern is channel changing on my Motorola HD DCT-6200

I have had years of troublefree firewire  ( 6200ch ) channel changing, 
but as far as I can tell, there is no FW1394 access available to guest 
OS on ESX Vmware.

I run Fedora 15.
What are my easiest options?

usbuirt device?  Seems from reading I have done that LIRC and Fedora 
have been challenging lately.
I use KB to change channel ( mini KB ) and hate messing around with LIRC.

Ideas on what do do with this?  Is usbuirt my only option?
