I was home for a half hour at lunch, so I pulled out the cable card
and gave QAM mode a try. I pointed it at my HDHR's video source, and
everything worked. It got all the same channels as the HDHR and did
all the tuning fine. There is only one extremely minor bug, which only
affects QAM mode...basically, when recording is done and it tries to
turn the tuner off, it doesn't recognize that it succeeded turning it
off and thus keep trying every 5 seconds. It has no ill effects other
than very negligible activity every 5 seconds and some spurious log
entries.

I've put up a patch (ver004) that fixes it, but unless you plan to run
the Ceton card in QAM mode for an extended length of time, it's not
worth the effort of applying the patch (and once you insert a
cablecard, the code in question never gets executed, so the new patch
has zero effect for cablecard users).

So anyway, that confirms that if you have a HDHR, you can just use the
same video source for you QAM mode Ceton card. The only disclaimer I
want to put on there is that my HDHR channel config was made back in
0.22, so there's always the possibility that 0.24 fills in the fields
differently.
