Hi all

I have just upgraded my combined backend/frontend to 0.24.0 fixes using mythbuntu, selected my remote (an older DVICO FusionHDTV usb) and find that I have no remote at all.

linux-image-2.6.35-24-generic
mythtv Version: 2:0.24.0+fixes.20110116.798359f-0ubuntu0mythbuntu2
lirc_0.8.7~pre3-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

lircd is running:
tvuser at mythtv:~$ ps aux|grep lirc
root 1321 0.0 0.0 32124 716 ? Ss Jan16 0:01 /usr/sbin/lircd --output=/var/run/lirc/lircd --driver=dvico --device=/dev/lirc0

and the frontend is setup to use /var/run/lirc/lircd

The usb receiver has been found:
tvuser at mythtv:~$ lsusb
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0fe9:9010 DVICO

and there is a valid config file in ~.lircrc which points to an included configs in ~./lirc

an edited list of modules:

ir_lirc_codec 3888 0
lirc_dev 11209 1 ir_lirc_codec
ir_sony_decoder 2381 0
ir_jvc_decoder 2442 0
ir_rc6_decoder 3018 0
ir_nec_decoder 2442 0
i2c_algo_bit 6208 2 cx88_vp3054_i2c,cx88xx
ir_common 6155 1 cx88xx
ir_core 16906 8 ir_lirc_codec,ir_sony_decoder,ir_jvc_decoder,ir_rc6_decoder,ir_rc5_decoder,ir_nec_decoder,cx88xx,ir_common
i2c_nforce2 6155 0
shpchp 34910 0
parport 37032 1 lp
usbhid 42062 0
hid 84710 1 usbhid
ahci 22210 2
libahci 26052 1 ahci

I think a couple of these modules relate to a wireless keyboard and its associated dongle, but I've included them for completeness

irw gives me nothing, as in no keypresses, so I'm guessing a device might not be present?
There are no /dev/lircn entries, only /dev/lircd
There are three /dev/hidraw entries

So, where to next? This is actually stopping my wife from using mythtv on her own, as she doesn't like/won't use a keyboard - serious issue this one...

regards

John Haywood
