Yeah BlackCurve, that's the one: when I had BlackCurve, I could turn on
subtitles, jump back a little in the program and then read the subtitles
while the OSD was still present; I remember those days, :-) Maybe a
version of MythBuntu with BlackCurve as the OSD would address we
dissenters requests, or is it just a case of hacking the OSD's alpha?

It's a shame that this discussion has gotten so heated. I'd imagine
everyone here agrees on at least two things.

1) Designing a theme takes a lot of work, and it's a great service
themers provide in doing so.

2) Independent of the correctness of the design choice, and whether
a temporary disadvantage or not, the merging of main theme and OSD
gives users less choice in easy configuration than just before the
merge. (Not disputing it was the right choice... )

Those are just facts, right?
