Howdy,

I'm running Squeeze with Nvidia 260.19.12 binary driver.

I've never had any problems using the binary drivers from Nvidia and 
Debian's package manager.  The are totally seperate software pieces, 
just don't install any nvidia stuff from apt and you shouldn't have a 
problem.

As a side note I have found Debian boxes to be the most stable to work 
with.. all my servers and mythtv boxes have been Debian.
