You could enable commflagging and then do a lossless transcode.
Lossless transcode is very very fast and you'll save a bit of space
from the removed advertisements.

Also, it's not the end of the world if you run out of space. Just make
sure to disable auto-expire on your favorite shows. If necessary, Myth
will automatically delete some of your older and less-important shows
to make room for the important ones.
