Yes, because it quickly gets out of hand if we don't attempt to prevent it.

Note that the person who asked you to take off-topic conversation elsewhere
is a MythTV developer.  We all generally agree that the MythTV list should
be for configuration and direct support of MythTV, not a resource to use
because everyone is knowledgeable.
