[mythtv-users] 4-digit channel change on a Comcast firewire STB (DCT-6200)

Since I only recently noticed that my local Comcast system added BBC
America HD, I recently updated my myth system (0.23-fixes) to record this
year's Doctor Who Christmas special on the 25th. Comcast has chosen to add
some of these new channels above 1000, so for me BBCAHD is 1225. For
whatever reason, I never tested things after updating my SchedulesDirect
lineup, so I was surprised to see, when I checked, it was recording TLC
(channel 225). I wasn't terribly surprised to see that my version of myth
doesn't handle 4 digit channel numbers correctly. Nothing obviously broken
from the backend log, just appears to be the communication to the STB.

Now I remember reading something about 4-digit channel changes a while
back, and I searched the gossamer list archive as well as a could (and also
the trouble tickets), but I couldn't find anything definitive about this.
I saw that there was a ticket about a Verizon QIP-6200, where part of the
solution was using the external channel change route (which was modified to
accomodate 4 digits). I'm curious about the state of the art for what's
current (24-fixes), as I'm in the process of upgrading so I can start using
my HDHR-Prime. This will make the STB channel mostly a non-issue, but I
may still leave it hooked up for some live-tv sitautions, since it's
co-located with the master front/backend. (I'm assuming the communication
to the Prime handles 4-digit channels, but haven't yet had chance to test
that.)

Are 4-digit channels no longer a problem, or should I look to patch my
setup after I upgrade to 0.24?
